AMS research journals fall under two models of open access, green and gold:. The AMS considers any version of the paper up to the final peer-reviewed manuscript including revisions that take into account comments and suggestions of referees to be a prepublication version. In this model, there are no processing fees and the article is included in a subscription journal. All AMS subscription research journals are green open access journals. With gold open access, the AMS makes the final published version of an article freely available electronically immediately upon publication. APCs are not expected to be paid by the author personally. Accelerator mass spectrometry AMS is a form of mass spectrometry that accelerates ions to extraordinarily high kinetic energies before mass analysis. The special strength of AMS among the mass spectrometric methods is its power to separate a rare isotope from an abundant neighboring mass “abundance sensitivity”, e.
